Updated Certification Allows Company to Continue Exporting Pressure Vessels to China.
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - Cataract Steel Industries, Inc. has received notification of approval of its China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Center (CSEI) Pressure Vessel Certification, which allows the Company to continue exporting pressure vessels into China. Cataract Steel is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of heat-exchange equipment across a host of industrial sectors.
"Our certification by the Chinese Government for the Special Equipment License shows our commitment to quality and safety," said Cataract President Scott Costanzo. "We have carried this certification since 1997 and are excited to continue providing heat transfer equipment to our customers doing business in China."
The China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Center (CSEI), a semi-governmental organization, is the sole national technical organization responsible for the inspection of Special Equipment in China.
Approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China, the Center for Boiler and Pressure Inspection and Research (CBPVI) was founded in October of 1979. The China State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision took charge of CBPVI in July of 1998. After the reorganization of the State Council in April of 2001, CBPVI became the subsidiary institution under the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ). In 2004, CBPVI changed its name to China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Center (CSEI).
This certification marks the fourth Chinese certification approval for Cataract Steel Industries since 1997. The company is approved for all levels of manufacturing.
